Giorgia Rosato

Program Manager

Born in Naples, but lives in Rome since 2017. Giorgia has always had a great passion for foreign languages and travel and this was the reason for her choice for her studies and her job. Trained working with the biggest foreign cruise ship companies, Giorgia has made her job her greatest passion. The sympathy, the warmth, the typical welcoming nature of the people of southern Italy as well as the professionalism are her great strengths. As an eternally positive and self-confident person, she really enjoys teamwork. Self-motivated, prone to motivating others she is really flexible, resilient and accommodating. Giorgia is also the emergency contact for all travelers while on tour with Nada's in Italy. She loves to pop in and say Hi to groups as they start their journey in Rome!

Ilaria ( “Lala”) Gentiluomo

Journey Director

Ilaria was born in Florence, surrounded by the beauty of the Renaissance. She grew up as an outdoor enthusiast as well as an art and history lover. She studied Performing Arts in Bologna, one of the world's most ancient universities, but soon her keen sense of adventure and wanderlust took her away from Italy. She lived in London working as drama teacher and volunteering in social and educational projects about inclusion and disability. Soon her interest in learning about different cultures drew her towards the travel industry, while still teaching drama in public schools in Italy. She began her adventure in the world of tourism back in 2002 and since 2009 she has been leading tours through Europe as a licensed Tour Manager, sharing her passion for local traditions and celebrating a life of simple pleasures.

Enzo Mangini

Journey Director

Born and raised in Calabria, the southernmost region of continental Italy, Enzo moved to Perugia to get his graduation in Political Sciences from the local University. A post-grad master in journalism brought him to Rome, where he lived for seventeen years working as reporter for different medias. In 2014 he decided to use storytelling and traveling experience to welcome foreign visitors and share with them his love for travels and for Italy – culture, food, history, art, way of life. Currently lives in Fondi, a small town between Rome and Naples, where, family life permitting, he nurtures his passions: hiking, reading, cooking (eating too!) and tabletop wargaming. I enjoy being a Nada’s Italy Journey Director because Nada’s tour are a unique combinations of famous highlights and customized experiences and places. With a genuine touch of Italian style. My favorite tour is Italian Treasures: what make it priceless to me is the expression on travelers’ faces when their eyes meet for the first time the stones of the Colosseum or the marbles of Piazza del Duomo in Florence or the waves of Venice Grand Canal.

Giorgia Pivanti

Journey Director

My name is Giorgia and I am a local tour guide and a Journey Director. I have been member of Nada’s Italy crew since 2021 and I love it!😊 I am Italian and I grew up at Lake Maggiore, a wonderful area in Northern Italy, between Milan and Switzerland. I speak 6 languages (and a little bit of Italian too, of course:)) and I have a university degree in Foreign Languages for International Management from the Catholic University of Milan. I love languages, travelling and playing sports. Since a young age I have traveled. I have a wonderful family and my parents always led my sister and me all around Europe to explore new places. That is why I decided to transform my passion into my job. I really adore working with and for Nada’s Italy. All the tours are unbelievably beautiful with such great places and destinations to explore. I like the fact we are always small groups, so that you can really get to know every single member of the family (yes, by the second day, it isn’t a group anymore, but a wonderful family). My favorite Nada’s Tour is the Jewels of Amalfi Coast: I am a very sporty girl, I love nature and being at open air, so what’s better than the Mediterranean sea and it’s breeze every day?

Alessio Manicone

Journey Director

My name is Alessio. I was born in a small town called Cittiglio, in Northern Italy, surrounded by the mountains at a very short distance from Lake Maggiore, Lake Como and Switzerland. When I was 13 my dream was to become a Journey Director, so I started to study languages at high school, I graduated at a University for interpreters and translators and now I can speak 5 languages and I have been working as Journey director for almost 10 years. Another huge dream of mine was to make friends in every single country in the world. I am still working on it, but I am sure that we can be very good friends. I have been working for Nada’s Italy Tour for 3 years, and I couldn’t have taken a better decision. Nada’s Italy Tour gives us the chance to be ourselves and to share not only our country but also our lives and experience. I really enjoy being in small groups. This gives us the opportunity to get to know each other and to experience things as a real big family. Not to mention that Nada’s always offers you a first class travelling experience, and big support everywhere you go.

Salvatore Martinico

Journey Director

My name is Salvatore Martinico (Sal). I'm proudly, passionately, and unmistakably Sicilian. As Goethe once said, “Italy without Sicily leaves no image in the soul. Here is the key to everything.” My journey in the world of wine began in 2003, deeply inspired by my father, an experienced winemaker. Thanks to him, I developed not only a profound appreciation for wine, but also for the rich connections between food, territory, and tradition. In my spare time I love discovering new jam producer or boating and fishing with my old traditional Latin sail boat and cooking fish recipes. Over the past four years, I’ve chosen to specialize in high-quality wine and food tours across wineries, olive farms, and dairy producers all around Sicily. I’m a certified food and wine expert with a degree in Food Science. For five years I conducted technical tastings, a role I continue to be involved in. Above all, I am a lifelong lover and explorer of Sicilian territory and its niche food and wine productions. I have an in-depth knowledge of Sicilian cuisine, traditional recipes, fishing culture, and local ingredients.

Dino Conversano

Journey Director

Buongiorno amici! My name is Dino and I am one of the Journey Directors of the Nada’s Italy family. I live in Lecce, an enchanting city in the heel of the boot, nicknamed “The Florence of the South”, and I’ve been a tour leader since 2013. From the moment I met the team of Nada’s Italy in 2021 I realized that they had all I was looking for to offer an unforgettable experience of real immersion in the Italian “Dolce Vita”. I love every Nada’s Italy tour, but of course my favourite has to be “Puglia Paradise”. Puglia is the region where I live and there’s no better way to enjoy the amazing and hidden gems of this part of Italy than joining the “Puglia Paradise” tour. So, if we will have the pleasure of meeting each other on one of the Nada’s Italy tours, get ready to “live in the moment” like a real Italian, that is to say “relax and enjoy” the kindness of people, the beauty of the sceneries and the richness of the food of my beautiful region.

Matteo Nacci

Journey Director

Hi everyone, my name is Matteo! I was born and raised in the countryside of Tuscany, nearby Florence. After the degree in foreign languages (Università di Pisa, city of the Leaning Tower), I started to work in tourism. I'm really passionate and enthusiastic about history and local traditions and I am deeply in love with the amazing art and culture of my country. Since 2014 I’ve been working as a Tour Manager, leading tours through Italy and Europe. I really love to be a Nada’s Italy Journey Director because I like working with small groups, sharing my passion with our travelers. Our customers feel like they are traveling with a group of friends, using private transportation, having dinner together in family-owned restaurants and doing exclusive activities. That is why I feel at ease with the company vision and I really like Nada’s Italy motto “Tours for people who don’t go on tours”: it perfectly fits with our trips!

Barbara Bruno

City Guide

I was born and raised in Rome where I studied languages and history of art. Next January will be my 30th anniversary as guide of Rome and of the Vatican City state! I really love to share my knowledge and my experience with friends (I never call them clients), and besides the classic tour of the Vatican and of the Ancient Rome, I love to do something out of the beaten path!! Rome underground, excavations, catacombs, summer residence of the Pops outside of Rome in Castel Gandolfo.

Elfy Mayr

City Guide

I'm Elfi, one of your tour guides in Sicily, east coast. I was born and raised in Austria and I lived there till 1995. Destiny brought me a little bit through Europe ( Germany, Spain, Ireland, Greece) and I finally ended here in Sicily. Sicily is my second home country and I have no doubts about it: I love this island and touring around and explaining the uniqueness of this place is simply fun for me. Luckily I can say I never worked a day in my life because I love my job!

Elisabetta Marchi

City Guide

I was born and raised in Tuscany. Since I was a child I loved history and languages and my main passions turned out to be a job 22 years ago when I became a qualified tour guide. As I have worked in the travel business since 1989, I have developed an important knowledge on the region where I have always lived and about Italy in general. Many people ask me if I ever get bored but it's never the same because everyone of us is different or has different expectations! Travelling is an essential part in my life too. I am never tired of discovering new places and I always hire local guides. I like to have the feel of the country we are visiting, something special only a local can offer you.

Elisa Acciai

City Guide

My name is Elisa Acciai, I'm born and raised in Florence, a city that I adore. I studied art and languages, because my dream was always to work in tourism and be surrounded by beauty. I worked as a Concierge in 5- stars hotels for many years, getting so much experience in coordinating and helping travelers, making their stay in my town as a top-notch one. When I was pregnant of my first son, I decided to study to become a local certified guide and since I got my license I started my journey into this new path, making it my preeminent job few years later. I really love being a guide, it is a perfect match for me to be able to show the wonderful sights of my city to travelers from all over the world and also to organize independently my family life.

Margherita Ruggiero

City Guide

Ciao a tutti , here I am. I am Margherita Ruggiero, native from the Sorrento peninsula . I had always felt incredibly blessed to realize my dream, to be a tourist guide to discover the beauty, art, history, traditions of my territory...and its true local life. In 1997 that dream turned in reality. In 2012 in Pompeii I met Nada, we did a tour in the old town together, immediately we realized we had something in common, both of us liked to do something different "another tourism", to let people experience the true Italian life, to discover the famous places, but also the off the beaten paths ones, to “walk and talk with friends” and not "to work and talk with some clients"!. Immediately I became part of the Nada's Italy family and now, I have a lot of friends all over the world, and I continue sharing tips and do my best for them when we meet.

Marco Bellanca

City Guide

I have just realized that I was born over half a century ago, time goes by so quickly, says a famous modern song. Umbria is my birthplace , the 5th smallest region of Italy and small is beautiful .This is the reason why I like working with Nada's who place the emphasis on quality for small groups and individuals. After studying at the high school for humanities in my own town I went to Florence, attracted by the art and history as I've always been and got my university degree . The years spent in Florence as well as my studies in the UK and Germany opened my mind and strengthened my wish to meet people, to work with them and to show them my true country beyond the stereotypes and common places. I have been showing the secret corners and explaining the historical, political, spiritual as well as artistic reasons beyond the artworks and buildings of my beloved Umbria for 27 years and I still like doing it above all in Perugia , a surprisingly beautiful city! Let yourself be surprised ,stay curious, stay hungry for hidden beauties!

Simona Cardone

City Guide

I'm Simona, I was born in Bari, in a big family, very fond of its roots and traditions. Now, all my siblings and most of my cousins live far away and we love to meet during holidays, here in Puglia. I studied Modern Languages and Art History in Bari. I had a few experiences abroad, I wanted to discover the world. At the age of 25 something changed, I realized that the only place where I wanted to live forever was my hometown. I missed so much the blue sky, the sea, the flavours of my land and the relationship with neighbors and people, that I came back with a "suitcase full of wonderful memories". I love my job, being with people of different cultures, but I'm always happy to go back home to play with my kids. During my free time I love going to the beach, riding my bike, cooking for friends, taking care of my new little garden . I enjoy being a Nada's Italy guide because I like their way of working. Even if the team is far away from me, I feel they are very close, very attentive and willing to answer my questions and cooperate for the success of the tour.
