Friday | Day 1 | Benvenuto: Welcome!

Arrival in Rome, check into the hotel and get some rest in what the Romans called ‘Caput Mundi’. Group meets in lobby and Journey Director introduces themselves. Transfer to roof–top terrace for “Apericena” (drinks and light dinner). From there we partake in an exclusive & reserved entrance to the Vatican Museums&Sistine Chapel and guided tour with our Rome City Guide. We end our night with a transfer back to our hotel for a relaxing evening

Saturday | Day 2 | The Spanish Steps and the Pantheon

The day starts with an early morning visit to St. Peter’s Basilica accompanied by our Rome City Guide. Then we continue with a wonderful walking tour of Rome and its main piazzas: Pantheon, Spanish Steps and much more! We’ll enjoy the afternoon will be at leisure. In the evening we’ll meet in the lobby and walk to traditional Roman Pizzeria for dinner. .

Sunday | Day 3 | The Colosseum & Ancient Rome

After breakfast, you’ll discover the splendors of the Roman Empire! Travel back in time, gazing at incredible sites, temples, columns, and imposing ruins during a group walk with our expert City Guide, who will tell us what Roman life was all about. The tour will continue with the visit of the Colosseum (museum tickets included with preferred access, no waiting in line). The walk continues through some of Rome's picturesque neighborhoods, ending with lunch in a traditional trattoria. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon and dinner on your own. Savor each moment of living "la dolce vita" in Rome's many lively piazzas and bustling neighborhoods.

Monday | Day 4 | Journey to Sorrento

Today we check-out from the hotel and head down to lovely Sorrento, a southern gem, where you'll have the chance to enjoy some R&R for the second part of your stay. Along the way, we will stop for group lunch in a local trattoria. Once we arrive in Sorrento, you will have time to refresh from the scenic drive and get prepared for a fun group walk to discover this southern coastal town's lively atmosphere. We'll explore the cobbled stone streets, churches, boutiques, and stop to meet the local artisans, especially known for the ancient tradition of marquetry (hand-engraving wooden boxes). Enjoy the breath-taking views from Sorrento's steep cliffs, great view points to take photos of the entire Gulf of Naples and the volcano Vesuvius. Learn how the local specialty Limoncello is made at a small factory, where you'll be able to try this sweet tart liquor. Benvenuto dinner in a nearby trattoria in Sorrento, featuring various tasty local dishes!

Tuesday | Day 5 | Amalfi, Ravello, and the Coast of Dreams

Today we visit the awe-inspiring coastal villages along the ‘Costiera’, including the Mediterranean-chic village of Positano, also known as the "vertical city" for its steep staircases and cascading villas stacked up against the mountain, creating one of the most dramatically beautiful landscapes in the world. Our next stop will be Amalfi, the town that gives the name to the entire coastline, with time to explore its spectacular byzantine-style Cathedral, lovely shops, and pier, from which to take some great photos of the entire town. Group lunch along the way to Ravello in a family-owned restaurant, known for traditional dishes. Enjoy some free time to explore the sumptuous villas of Ravello, clinging to the mountainside surrounded by fragrant lemon orchards or shop for the wonderful bright hand-painted pottery items. Visit the ruins of the 11th-century Moorish Villa Rufolo or walk up to the magical gardens of Villa Cimbrone, where flowers and luscious landscaping greet you at every corner. Dinner on your own back in Sorrento.

Wednesday | Day 6 | Luxurious Capri

Today we're off to one of the pearls of the Mediterranean: the Island of Capri. At your leisure, take a picturesque walk to the top of the island visiting the ancient remains of Roman Emperor Tiberius's Villa Jovis, passing by fragrant groves of chestnut, pine, lemon, and olive trees, and rose gardens spilling over elegant villa walls. Or, take a quick ride up to the old town of Anacapri, a less-touristy part of the island. Group dinner.

Thursday | Day 7 | Volcanic Wines and Views over Pompeii

Today we're heading towards the infamous volcano whose eruption buried almost 2,000 people: Mt Vesuvius. Its unforgiving explosion, however, left behind a rich soil full of minerals where tenacious vines produce a lovely floral wine. We’ll learn more about it during a private visit to a local family-owned winery, where the friendly owners will tell us about the wine production and walk us through the vineyards. Group lunch and wine tasting featuring homemade local specialties. We continue our journey to the nearby town of Pompeii. Our expert local City Guide will walk us through the amazing ruins, telling us about what Roman lifestyle was about, visiting villas with wonderful frescoes, mosaics, and gardens, before the tremendous eruption of 79 A.D. Return to the hotel and dinner on your own

Friday | Day 8 | Arrivederci! Until we meet and eat again!

What's Not Included in Tour Package

Trip price does not include airfare and anything that is not specified to be included. Price does not include any personal related expenses or travel-related expenses outside of the scheduled itineraries. The food & wine that is included is what is presented during meals.

Before you sign up, please note the following:

>     The first day of this tour is Friday (you will need to book your flight from the USA on Thursday to get to Rome on Friday). The last day of this tour will be the following Friday (arrival in the U.S. is the same day of departure on your way back). Some tours start and end in different cities, make sure to book your flights accordingly.

>     Airfare is not included. Nada's Italy can assist with Business and First Class airfare. Please let us know if you need information about arrival and departure airport for this tour.

>     Reminders, hotel information, and arrival instructions will be sent only by email, please make sure we have your current email address.

>     Transfers to and from the airport are not included in the tour rate. Please contact us if you'd like to add transfers to your tour package.

>     You must be in good physical condition to sign-up for this trip! There will be a lot of walking uphill, downhill, walking over uneven pavement, and standing for extended periods of time. An average walking tour is about 2-3 hours without sitting.

>     Even though tips to staff and restaurants are included, it is suggested that you put aside approximately $100 (US) in combined gratuities for your driver & Tour Director for your trip (and any voluntary additional restaurant gratuities are at your discretion).

>     Nada's Italy strongly recommends that you purchase Travel Insurance for your trip. For suggestions on policies and a quote, please contact us.

>     You should know that air conditioning in Italy, as well as WIFI connection, are not always as reliable as they are in the United States.

>     The hotel staff assigns rooms to guests, some rooms may include stairs. A view is not guaranteed. As Nada's Italy works mainly with luxury historic inns and small upscale boutique hotels, rooms differ in size and layout. In general, Italian bedrooms and bathrooms are smaller compared to US standards. Each room has its own en-suite bathroom with shower and/or tub, hair-dryer, and basic toiletry set. Please contact us if you have specific requests/needs.

>     It is your responsibility to obtain the required documents to travel to Italy, please verify with your own country's travel laws and government agencies. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months after your return date.

>     In the unlikely event your tour does not reach the minimum participation requirement of 6 travelers, we will work with you to choose another available tour or tour date. We will do our best to make the transition as smooth as possible.
