Welcome to Italia! Tonight you will rest in a beautifully restored palazzo, now a luxury boutique hotel, in the historical heart of Florence and relax after a long trip overseas. Meet in the lobby in the morning and enjoy an orientation tour through the historical streets of Florence, guided by your expert local guide who will show you the main sites, churches, and shopping areas that Florence is known for. Enjoy lunch on your own. Before we make our way to the Tuscan countryside, we'll stop on one of the side-hills of Florence from where you can enjoy the most breathtaking view of the Renaissance city. Later, we’ll arrive on the scenic property of a beautiful local Tuscan Villa (50 min. drive from Florence) overlooking the hills of Tuscany, surrounded by cypress trees, vineyards, and olive groves. After our arrival, you’ll be able to enjoy some free time to relax, have a glass of vino, water, unpack, walk, take a power nap, explore the grounds, and freshen up. You’ll take your first peak into the Italian lifestyle in a small sleepy village in Umbria: Castiglione del Lago by Lake Trasimeno. Visit the various deli's and specialty gourmet shops, enjoy a typical Italian Sunday morning seeing families come out to greet their neighbors and stretch out with their morning “passeggiata” (stroll). Group lunch in a historical trattoria. Then to Cortona, the charming Etruscan hilltop village where “Under the Tuscan Sun” was filmed. Its massive 3,000-year-old walls are still standing! Enjoy some free time and have a gelato as you mingle with the locals, explore the intricate alley ways, picturesque views of the countryside, or sit back at a coffee shop. Feel the romance at our next stop, the town where “Life is beautiful” was filmed, also very famous for its Antique Market and gold jewelry: Arezzo, also a center for Renaissance architecture. Today is a super-fun day where you'll have the chance to take part in a special hands-on cooking class by a local Chef, as he shows you how to make some simple Tuscan recipes that we'll enjoy for lunch. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon on your own at the Villa or a quiet walk in nature (the property offers several panoramic hiking trails). We’ll then have a group dinner at a nearby family-owned Pizzeria for a fun, casual, fresh, piping-hot pizza!! San Gimignano, our first stop, is an absolutely astonishing example of a walled Medieval hilltop town, also known for its dry white wine, Vernaccia and its colorful local crafts: hand-painted pottery, alabaster, olive wood items, and much more. Enjoy plenty of free time and lunch on your own. After lunch we will drive to amazing Siena, where a local guide will meet us and give us a true "insider's tour" of the city: she'll tell us about the Sienese peculiar lifestyle, taking us through hidden parts of the city and pointing out things most tourists don't know about! You will also have free time to explore the town and visit its amazing Cathedral. Group dinner in a typical local restaurant. Enjoy a relaxing morning at the villa to spend at your leisure. Enjoy a walk along the various hiking trails, a glass of wine &
book under the olive trees…or relax by the pool and gardens. This is your slice
of La Dolce Vita! In the afternoon, we'll depart for more wine and cooking again!
We will experience another fun group cooking lesson by a local chef
(participation is optional). Bring your aprons to the old kitchen and learn to
make fresh pasta! Group dinner after

Our first stop is one of Tuscany’s most charming villages, Pienza, the drive alone offers some of the most stunning views of the countryside. Pienza was built as the ideal Renaissance city by Pope Pius II who “remodeled” it according to his taste. Lunch in a small family-owned trattoria, and then enjoy some free time in this fairytale-like community. Our next stop is the region’s highest hilltop town: Montepulciano, land of the Vino Nobile (“the noblemen’s wine”). Group walk through town, stopping for a visit at an ancient wine cellar We meet at the Porta al Prato (large brick archway at bottom of hill), our final stop of the day will be for a delicious dinner made with farm-fresh ingredients and wines included. Drive to the nearby Greve in Chianti (only 15 minute drive) where we’ll have some free time to shop and explore. Shortly afterwards, we will have panoramic drive through the heart of the oldest part of the Chianti Classico hills. We’ll make a quick stop in the amazingly small and uniquely charming Montefioralle to walk around and explore. The we’ll visit of an historic wine estate, with a private tour of the beautiful wine cellars, followed by group lunch paired with wines. Once we return to the Villa you’ll have a little free time before our last group dinner, at the Villa. Please reserve some time after dinner to prepare your luggage for morning checkout. We transfer back to Florence in the morning. At our arrival, a local guide will meet you in the lobby for a private tour of the Galleria dell’Accademia to see Michelangelo’s David up close and personal, and right after that, we will take a nice walking tour throught the street of the cradle of the Renaissance! Enjoy a day of total freedom in one of the world's most beautiful cities or easily take day trips to other areas by train, as Florence is centrally located. The
first day of this tour is Friday (you will need to book your flight from
the USA on Thursday to get to Florence on Friday). The last day of this
tour is Monday (arrival in the U.S. is the same day of departure on your
way back). Some tours start and end in different cities, make sure to
book your flights accordingly.
> Airfare is not included.
Nada's Italy can assist with Business and First Class airfare. Please
let us know if you need information about arrival and departure airport
for this tour.
> Reminders, hotel information, and arrival
instructions will be sent only by email, please make sure we have your current email address.
> Transfers
to and from the airport are not included in the tour rate. Please
contact us if you'd like to add transfers to your tour package.
> You
must be in good physical condition to sign-up for this trip! There will be a lot of
walking uphill, downhill, walking over uneven pavement, and standing for
extended periods of time. An average walking tour is about 2-3 hours without sitting.
> Even though tips to staff and
restaurants are included, it is suggested that you put aside
approximately $100 (US) in combined gratuities for your driver &
Tour Director for your trip (and any voluntary additional restaurant
gratuities are at your discretion).
> Nada's Italy strongly
recommends that you purchase Travel Insurance for your trip. For
suggestions on policies and a quote, please contact us.
> You should know that
air conditioning in Italy, as well as WIFI connection, are not always as
reliable as they are in the United States.
> The hotel
staff
assigns rooms to guests, some rooms may include stairs. A view is not
guaranteed. As Nada's Italy works mainly with luxury historic inns and
small upscale boutique hotels, rooms differ in size and layout. In
general, Italian bedrooms and bathrooms are smaller compared to US
standards. Each room has its own en-suite
bathroom with shower and/or tub, hair-dryer, and basic toiletry set. Please
contact us if you have specific requests/needs.
> It is your
responsibility to obtain the required documents to travel to Italy,
please verify with your own country's travel laws and government
agencies. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months after your return date.

the unlikely event your tour does not reach the minimum participation
requirement of 6 travelers, we will work with you to choose another
available tour or tour date. We will do our best to make the transition
as smooth as possible.

My husband and I went on the Seacret Escape tour with Nada. We have been to Italy many times on our own (we often visit family in the Molise region), but never saw this magnificent country like we did with Nada and her team. We experienced smaller Tuscan villages far away from large tourist groups, had intimate dining experiences with trattoria owners that were personal friends of Nada’s and stayed at a small B&B where we were the only guests and were treated like family. Cooking glasses, wine tours, a visit to a seaside spa…wonderfully memorable experiences with a terrific group of people whom we still stay in touch with! Our drivers were top notch, delivering us to our destinations door-to-door in luxury vehicles… a nice touch with a small group (This could never happen on bus tours that must drop their passengers far away from the center of many small towns that can’t accommodate the bigger buses.) Every person associated with Nada’s Italy provided us with exceptional customer service, from the office staff to her tour guides and drivers. Nada also arranged for private tours for those in our group who wanted to see more of Rome when our tour ended. I can’t say enough good things about Nada and her wonderful team. Exceeded Every Expectation
My wife and I booked the Italian Treasures tour with Nada's to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We had never traveled outside of the US and I wanted someone to take care of all of the details. I can honestly say they completely exceeded every expectation that we had for our trip. Our Nada's guide, Alessandro, absolutely made the trip one we will never forget. He learned about the people in our group and truly made it a special experience for all of the travelers (my wife is a coffee nut... and he made sure to order her coffee at each meal and she mentioned she had never had a peach bellini.. so at our next meal the server brought out peach bellinis for the group). There were so many small touches like that to absolutely spoil you! In addition the tour is just so well coordinated that are able to see so much more than you ever could on your own. This trip was worth every penny we spent on it and I cannot put into words how much we enjoyed traveling with Nada's.
