The sequence of day trips may vary. We always make the best effort to make sure that our guests have the best possible experience on all our tours. The final itinerary will be given to travelers prior to the start of the trip.


Friday | Day 1 | Welcome to Portugal!

Bem-vindo a Portugal! Arrival at Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon. Enjoy your stay in a luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Lisbon and relax after a long trip overseas. (contact us to reserve your transfer from the airport to the hotel)


Saturday | Day 2 | Discover Lisbon

Meet our fabulous local Journey Director who will accompany you throughout your adventure in Portugal and take a stroll through the historical streets of Lisbon, sampling tasty Portuguese gastronomical treats along the way.
Tonight, enjoy a traditional
dinner along with a Fado music show. Our local expert will explain how the Fado lyrics and food blend together providing an unforgettable and truly authentic experience.


Sunday | Day 3 | Sintra and Cascais

Today's exciting excursion will take you to Sintra and Cascais and the marvelous views of the Castelo dos Mouros (Moorish Castle) and of the Palácio da Pena (Pena Palace).
Stroll through the Sintra's narrow streets, where you'll have the opportunity to taste the traditional Queijadas and/or Travesseiros de Sintra in the classic pastry shop Piriquita. We will then enjoy a
group lunch at Quinta do Pisão, followed by a scenic drive through the Natural Park of Sintra-Cascais, along the dramatic coastline road of Cabo da Roca (the westernmost part of the European continent) leading to the pretty fishman's village of Cascais, known for its sandy beaches, and traditional Portuguese charm.


Monday | Day 4 | The Flavors of Lisbon

Today is all about Portuguese cuisine! Get your hands in the dough during a fun group cooking class with a local chef, learning to make traditional Portuguese dishes, followed by a relaxed group lunch with local wine.


Tuesday | Day 5 | From the City to the Countryside

Today the journey continues to the Douro Valley, known for the ports and wines, winding scenic roads, postcard- pretty villages and excellent regional restaurants. We'll stop in Pinhao as well as the charming town of Óbidos.
Explore the Manueline porticoes, and a maze of streets and white houses with colorful window boxes and a well-preserved Castle within the ancient walls.

We continue to the picturesque seaside village of Nazaré, take in the amazing views

from El Sítio district along with the long sandy beaches, considered among the best in Portugal.


Wednesday | Day 6 | The Wines of the Douro Valley

Today you will discover the UNESCO World Heritage Douro Valley Wine. You’ll get to know the wineries (Quintas) and the people, learn where and how the wine is produced and enjoy a delicious group lunch. A lovely private boat excursion along the Douro River, passing by stunning landscapes of vineyard slopes and the famous terraces, while sipping delightful wine of the areas accompanied by local cheeses and cold cuts.


Thursday | Day 7 | The Journey Continues to Porto

Today we head to Porto for the last segment of the tour. After hotel check in in Porto, enjoy a guided tour and culinary experience through the old part of the city, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Get immersed in the local food scene, visit the local market and eateries while sampling delicious food.


Friday | Day 8 | Porto & its Wine

Free morning to relax, admire unbeatable views of Porto from the rooftop of your hotel, lay by the pool or go for a stroll and explore more on your own free time.
In the afternoon we'll go
visit a Wine Cellar and learn all about the winemaking process in this area, the famous Port Wine.


Saturday | Day 9 | Aveiro & Coimbra

Today features an exciting excursion to Aveiro and Coimbra.
We first stop in Aveiro, a city on the west coast of Portugal set along a lagoon called Ria de Aveiro. It's distinguished by its canals navigated by colorful boats (barcos moliceiros), traditionally used to harvest seaweed. Experience the network of water channels crossing Aveiro on a traditional moliceiro boat ride.
Next, we’ll continue on to the nearby town of
Costa Nova to enjoy lunch and some time at leisure. Next stop: Coimbra, on the banks of the river Mondego, was once the capital of Portugal all the way back in the 13th century and is famous for its University, which is one of the oldest in Europe. Although drenched in layers of history, the city is a laid- back place to enjoy the local lifestyle, with lots of great bars and restaurants for you to try. Your visit includes a guided tour of the University and the old town of Coimbra.


Sunday | Day 10 | Porto and its Surroundings

Free day to explore more of Porto...enjoy some shopping: among many other arts and crafts, Porto is famous for hand painted ceramic tiles. If shopping is not your thing, perhaps a relaxing walk by the beach in the Matosinhos District, along one of the beautiful “esplanades” overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The area features amazing seafood restaurants. Final farewell group dinner with your fellow travelers and Journey Director.


Monday | Day 11 | Obrigado!

    What's Not Included in Tour Package

    Trip price does not include airfare and anything that is not speciFied to be included. Price does not include any personal related expenses or travel-related expenses outside of the scheduled itineraries. The food & wine that is included is what is presented during meals.


Before you sign up, please note the following:


>     The first day of this tour is Friday (you will need to book your flight from the USA on Thursday to get to Lisbon on Friday). The last day of this tour is Monday (arrival in the U.S. is the same day of departure on your way back). Some tours start and end in different cities, make sure to book your flights accordingly.


>     Airfare is not included. Nada's Italy can assist with Business and First Class airfare. Please let us know if you need information about arrival and departure airport for this tour.


>     Reminders, hotel information, and arrival instructions will be sent only by email, please make sure we have your current email address.


>     Transfers to and from the airport are not included in the tour rate. Please contact us if you'd like to add transfers to your tour package.


>     You must be in good physical condition to sign-up for this trip! There will be a lot of walking uphill, downhill, walking over uneven pavement, and standing for extended periods of time. An average walking tour is about 2-3 hours without sitting.


>     Even though tips to staff and restaurants are included, it is suggested that you put aside approximately $100 (US) in combined gratuities for your driver & Tour Director for your trip (and any voluntary additional restaurant gratuities are at your discretion).


>     Nada's Italy strongly recommends that you purchase Travel Insurance for your trip. For suggestions on policies and a quote, please contact us.


>     You should know that air conditioning in Europe, as well as WIFI connection, are not always as reliable as they are in the United States.


>     The hotel staff assigns rooms to guests, some rooms may include stairs. A view is not guaranteed. As Nada's Italy works mainly with luxury historic inns and small upscale boutique hotels, rooms differ in size and layout. In general, European bedrooms and bathrooms are smaller compared to US standards. Each room has its own en-suite bathroom with shower and/or tub, hair-dryer, and basic toiletry set. Please contact us if you have specific requests/needs.


>     It is your responsibility to obtain the required documents to travel to Europe, please verify with your own country's travel laws and government agencies. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months after your return date.


>     In the unlikely event your tour does not reach the minimum participation requirement of 6 travelers, we will work with you to choose another available tour or tour date. We will do our best to make the transition as smooth as possible.
